We have put together some frequently asked questions and the answers.

When should I start looking for a dress?
Start your dress search around 8-12 months before the wedding. This gives plenty of time to order, receive and fit the dress. If you have less than then do not worry, we still have plenty of options.

What is the price range of your dresses?
Prices range from £500 – £1500. There is also a rail of ex-sample dresses that are generously discounted.

What size are your sample dresses?
We have dresses from size 10 to size 20.

Do I need an appointment or can I just turn up?
We recommend appointments, especially on a Saturday. We only have the capacity for one appointment at a time. If you’re thinking of calling in it’s a good idea to call ahead and check we’re free.

Do you have evening and Sunday appointments available?
We are not able to offer Sunday appointments. We do open late, strictly by appointment on Tuesday and Thursday.

How long will my appointment last?
Bridal and bridesmaid appointments last for an hour. Alterations appointments vary from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the work required.

How many people should I bring to my appointment?
We suggest bringing 2-3 of your closest family or friends. We find customers often struggle to make a choice with too many opinions around them.

What should I bring to my appointment?
A strapless bra if you have one.
Shoes with a heel height you’re likely to wear on your wedding day. Although we do have shoes you can use.
Hair bands or clips to tie up your hair.

Do you serve alcohol at appointments?
We are not licensed to serve alcohol, however, if you’d like to turn your appointment into an event then you are welcome to bring a bottle with you. We have glasses that you can use. We do offer a variety of hot and soft drinks.

I plan to lose weight, will you order my dress in a smaller size?
When we measure for your dress, we take a bust, waist and hip measurement. Dresses are made to order based on the size chart for each designer. Our policy is to order the size that reflects the largest of your measurements. It’s far easier for us to alter a dress to make it smaller than try to let it out if it’s too tight.

Are alterations included in the price of my dress?
No, but we have a seamstress, skilled in the alteration of bridal dresses – a copy of the price list is on display and available by request. If you’d rather take your dress elsewhere to be altered, don’t worry, we won’t be offended.

How many fittings will I need?
The first fitting will take place around 8 weeks before your wedding date. In an ideal world, you would need one further fitting just before the wedding to make sure everything is fine. Where a lot has been altered it may take 2 or 3 more appointments.

How can I pay for my dress?
We accept payment in cash or by debit/credit card. A 50% deposit is required for us to order your dress. The balance becomes due when the dress arrives in the shop and must be paid before any alterations are undertaken.

Interest-free payment plans are available to help spread the cost of your purchase. Your dress would be ordered at the point 50% deposit has been paid.

All deposits are non-refundable or transferable.

Will my dress be steamed and how will I take it away?
All dresses are steamed as part of our service. We will make sure your dress is steamed and ready to collect during the week leading up to your wedding. If you would like it sooner than this please let us know. Your dress will be stored in a breathable dress bag and you will collect it in that bag to protect it. When bagging bridesmaid dresses we are able to put up to 4 in each bag. If individual bags are required please let us know. (A small charge is made for the purchase of additional bags).
